Where do I begin?
I had another great weekend - not sure how this keeps happening but I am loving it!
Saturday - Attended the MCAS at Mira Mar and saw the Blue Angels. I saw them as a little girl and wanted to be one so bad. My dad never discouraged me until one day when my eye vision came up. I soon discovered that my stigmatism and bad left eye would keep me from one day being a Blue Angel...never mind that I am a female. Aircraft amazes me at what it can do and the speed it can travel.
Sunday - I received the most unexpected message from my dear friend LBA. Her older brother PB passed away earlier that morning. PB was my sunday school teacher after I was baptized. He was an RM but went inactive shortly after he taught my class for a year. He built the foundation of my testimony; the B family was an intregal part in my testimony. Their family has been there for me through the loss of both my mom and dad. There are so many memories of them. Barney came to check out the guns we found in a drawer while cleaning out my dad's room after he passed - he chuckled at us as he let us know they were just bb guns; this man has the most amazing stories. JJ - DJ's husband was so kind and gave me words of encouragement when my mom passed away that Sunday morning on 12/25/1993 ( I think that was the year - horrible that i don't remember). LBA was my escort when I received my endowments at the LA Temple. My heart truly aches for PB's family as they have young children who do not have the gospel and I am sure are wondering why their dad was taken when they are not even teenagers yet. I hope the B family knows how much I love them and am mourning with them at this time; but also have hope and faith that PB will help from the other side to comfort his family and help them see the truthfulness of the gospel.
Monday - I was off on my vacation day due to business needs at work. I went to the Magic Kingdom and had so much fun just spending a relaxed no rush to get here or there. I miss living so close to the mouse factory but so grateful that I have friends who have passes here in SD and are willing to go with me.
As the weekend ended I learned my previous bishop F was released as the bishop of my previous ward. I got to know his wife DF when she was our Relief Society President and I had just switched from C1 to C2. I loved her for her caring and when she lost her mother I felt we got a little closer. I have gotten to know this family so well over the past few years. Like many of my friends in the Cypress Stake they have been so kind and loving with me. I wonder what great new adventure is coming up for this family; after all I happen to have heard that there will be a new Stake Presidency called in early 2013.
So as my weekend wrapped up I couldn't help but feel gratitude for all the great people in my life and all the opportunities I am given each day. If you are reading this and you know me - you most likely have blessed my life in one way or another and I thank you.
