Orale Pues Vamos a Tijuana!!!

Yesterday I went to TJ with the doctor. We headed down the 805 and then the 5 and as we approached the border crossing the doctor said "Last chance do you want to turn around?" I was no let's do it!!!

So we found this great place to eat where the doctor had been before. I was planning to have some fish tacos but I saw a chorizo and egg plate go by and I was down for the count. So we planned our outing and hit the town

However, as I went to the bathroom it was no bigger than a closet I was like yikes at least it is clean.

So off we went and we went to the Rodeo Drive of TJ and walked around this shopping center. As we drove around the turnabouts aka the glorietas in spanish we saw demonstrators for Pena Nieto for the Pri party which is called the green party (if I am wrong - please let me know). We went to a grocery store and purchased some pan dulce and some Nivea cream in a jar. As we tried to pay for our parking we could not find a pay station that took dollars and finally we did so we hit the road.

We then headed to the Mercado and that was awesome crazy parking. We walked around and I bought some Spiderman pinatas, some chicle (going to get some to chew while I type this). We also bought some fruit and that was yummilicious. I also had some corn that was roasted. I bought some cajeta.

Afterwards we headed to another supermarket where the doctor had to get some medicinal supplies aka Tequila and I continued my search for the Orange Fanta in a bottle. I of course figured in a grocery store use the bathroom it is going to be clean....WRONG. Let's just say the doctor smelled the smell out in the area of the store nearest to the bathroom. I sucked it up and used the facilities. On the way there we saw a car accident and while there was no damage the police had to come and the guy that was rearended with CA plates was so mad that the cops were coming.

We then headed to Adelita's hood. Now that was interesting we parked the truck and went to the store and bought a t-shirt for the doctor and I got an apron.  It was very sad to see this part of town. Then we drove around and as we did this we almost saw a kid get hit. I totally covered my face with my hands thinking holy crap I am going to see a fatality.

We parked the truck walked around and then ended up at a little restaurant and watched a Sinaloan band play. Wait before this the doctor spinned the steering wheel for the churros we bought. The man said we were hired and could start right away. So don't be surprised if you see the me or the doctor making churros at a shopping center in TJ LOL. People were dancing. It was so much fun. We also watched a little bit of the first fight. As the sun was going down we decided it was time to head home.

We drove to the border crossing by the airport and our wait began. We had some churros while waiting and watching some big eared toddler in the car in front of us own that car. Eventually we made it to the crossing but the car in front of us got detained and the gate was closed while they were taken to the inspection.

As we finally went through the border and provided our documentation the inspector asked what we were bringing back. We told him why lie right? Then when the doctor itemized the number of tequila bottles being brought back he asked to see the size and then proceeded to tell us we were only allowed one bottle per person. We were over the limit and he told us why they were illegal...people get wasted on this stuff. I was feeling a tinge of guilt for being a transporter but also that the doctor may have to dump some of the tequila. We were allowed to bring it in and off we went to my home.

I can't wait to go to TJ or Ensenada again!!!

  2. Yeah and the doctor called me yesterday to let me know I left out quite a few items about our adventure. We bought 2 bags of churros while waiting to cross for a total of 3 in our outing. The lady who we avoided touching our pan dulce, the driving around and taking pictures of the ladies working in the hood by Adelitas, the man who while crossing the street pointed to his sunglasses and basically let us know he was watching us, walking down Revolucion, and I am sure many other things.
