Gratitude on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was amazingly GREAT!!!

I arrived in PD in the afternoon and everyone was there. Spencer had some friends come up from San Diego, Elaine's cousin Betty was there and it was her first American Thanksgiving (she is from Canada). We did the traditional going around the table saying what we were thankful for and I immediately started tearing up. When it came to my turn I kept it simple since I wasn't sure I would be able to keep the tears from flowing. If I could have said the following without tears I would have but I will write it in here.

I am thankful for the life that I have been blessed with; the parents I had and the family that they gave me. I am grateful for Ken and Elaine who are an incredible brother and sister in law and amazing hosts to those who come into their home. I am  grateful for Spencer, Laura, and Natalie who have learned from their parents to be kind, generous, loving friends to those they come in contact with. I am grateful for the many friends who have given me the gift of friendship and unconditional love who although they are not here are always close to my heart and all the ones that are here new and old. I am honored and grateful to once again sit at this home that is warm and full of love and friendship.

So with that I am now starting a Gratitude Journal. I will write each day a little bit of things I am grateful for so that I can have an attitude of gratitude.
