So I am delayed in posting this but I just have had a crazy week and I am finally taking a few seconds to post my latest adventure.
This Monday my ward had FHE at Petco Stadium in the grassy area. I agreed to go because I had baseball game withdrawals and figured why not? It is a baseball game and good way to start the week. However, you know as my work day started I thought you are going to be late getting to the meeting spot and you better buy your ticket now. So I purchased and printed my tickets in the morning. Then as my afternoon went on it was suddenly 4:59 and I had a lot to do and 31 minutes to get to the meeting spot. So I organized the work on my desk and walked out at 5:10 pm. Traffic is usually light on the 163 so I thought no problem, just do a little speeding here and there and you will be fine. I however, got off the freeway to find a Target and buy some Red Vines....and got stuck in traffic. It was then I realized I was late (surprise) and that I had missed two calls from the person I was meeting at 5:30. Let's call that person HB. So I called them back and really wanted to say hey I don't think I can make it but I will drop off the tickets...then I realized they probably really didn't want to go either but I think we both felt an obligation to honor our committment. So after letting them know I had no clue what I would want to eat and that I would be a 1/2 hour late we hung up.
When I arrived at HB's house they were on the computer working....I like that....someone just like me working every second of the day. I was super tired and realized I left my purse sitting in my front seat of my car with my sunroof open so I ran out to get it.
We eventually made it to go get some Italian Pasta at this place and it was yummy. In true Adriana fashion, I put my purse on the chair next to me and pushed the chair inside. The food was yummilicious and I cleared the table as we started to leave.
Our next destination was Qualcomm Stadium where we would pick up the trolley. So we finally made it to the stop and parked...I was asked a couple of questions that I normally would not have answered but there I was taking a chance and answering. I grabbed the tickets, my phone and went to grab my purse so I could pull some cash out. I opened the trunk and no purse...opened the back seat door and still no purse.Sudden panic hit me as I realized that I had put my passport in my purse that morning, all my credit cards and identifications and I had no recollection of where I put my purse. We quickly got back in the car and drove back to the restaurant. I was freaking out thinking holy cow! How am I going to replace everything within two weeks so I can have everything I need for France. HB was calm and kept assuring me that everything would be fine and to have FAITH. All the while I kept thinking where's my phone I need to call the restaurant and have them check but I did not know where my phone was.
As we arrived back at the restaurant I did not even bother parking. I just ran out of the car walked into the restaurant and immediately pulled the chair out and was relieved. My purse was still there....blessing!!!
So now we are on our way back to Qualcomm. We drove and I was still thinking huhm where is phone oh well I will look for it later. We arrive, park and I took the cash and put my purse in my trunk and something caught my eye by where I was parked before....a phone...I walked over to it and it was MY PHONE. Don't ask because I can not answer. So we begin looking for the tickets...no tickets to be found...we finally decide we will take the print out of the receipt of purchase when HB notices a piece of paper and runs to pick it up. Hey it's a ticket...looks around sees another paper and it is the other ticket!!! Yay we can go now.
So the trolley ride was eventful. I found my cousin Paco on the train. Yes, I talked to a total stranger...HB will tell you I was flirting but I wasn't I knew HB was more his type.
We arrive to Petco park and I had to find the bathroom...as I walk out I hear the end of the 7th inning stretch song. Yes, I was late to a baseball game...and I mean LATE.
Most people had left and there were a few troopers there. Was it fun YES! Did the Padres win? NO! Did I regret going? NO! Does HB have information to hold over my head? Probably but I will deny it...there are no witnesses. There were also things I learned about myself which made me realize I am developing faith.
I think the adventures that led to my being able to get to the park were quite unforgettable and comical!!! So there you have it my Adventure to Petco Park!!
