My drive and evening in Palm Desert

Take two...I was almost done with this blog but my notebook decided to restart on its own and reconfigure. Ok maybe 8 or 10 as I am having issues with a lot of blank lines in preview but I am done. sorry I just don't care.
I left Escondido yesterday afternoon around 3:30 and it was stinking hot somewhere in the 90's and was relieved to be leaving that place. Yeah, yeah, I know I was heading to the desert and it makes no sense but you know when you are going to be with the familia and have a yummy dinner Makes the heat much cooler.
So I debated driving up the 15 - 215 - 60 - 10 which was 125 miles or taking a scenic route of the 15 - 79 - 371 - 74 for a mere 94.4 miles. I opted for the scenic route. I have driven this route many times as I would sometimes have to work at the Escondido facility. So I would stay with my family and then drive in to Escondido. It was an enjoyable drive because of the scenary no traffice, peaceful with time to think about all the things that matter and enjoy nature. Which was 180 degrees from my regular commute on the 405 to Torrance from Orange County. I enjoy these kind of drive and when I found myself alone on this stretch of the road I thought I would stop and take a picture of the drive ahead of me.
The few times I was driving to Escondido I would see the view point stop on the left hand side of the 2 lane highway. I often wanted to stop in there take a picture but wouldn't because there was commutter traffic..lol there was more cars and I had to be at the office by a certain time. However, Saturday, I was on the right side of the road and it as easy to get off the road and back on so I did it and admired the view. It is that view where you see where you are going from a different perspective and you think "ahhh I am almost home and it is good to be back here". I call Palm Desert my home because that is where my family lives. I love them tons!!! Another thing I wanted a picture of is the road that I would shortly be driving down. See it there and all the cars going down. My car was going down that way soon. Shortly I was down the hill and in Palm Desert.
We went to Open Call and watched Nat perform with her dance group. I think she was the best but I know I am biased.
Elaine took Nat to the party at IHOP and Spencer and I watched a mix of SNL and St. Elmo's Fire.
It is fun to watch a move that was out before your nephew was born and I was maybe 15 or 14...not sure and review it with him. He luckily saw it last summer so he knew more about it than I did. Anyhow he pointed out how that movie makes him not want to go to Georgetown. We kept going back and forth with silly commentaries about what we should or shouldn't do. Basically, we will not do drugs, no sex we called those scenes portn. We definitley need to get a torch - not only will we have a REAL tool but hey it can be a dual purpose tool and be used in the kitchen when we make creme brulee. If you have never seen this movie it has some great people in it and it is and 80's movie so it is fun to just laugh and remember those times and make some new memories with people who are way too young to know about the 80's but they do because of movies from this era.....where are all these actors now?
I did enjoy switching to SNL and seeing a skit with Pee Wee Herman, shots, intervention and more shots....I love Pee Wee and so does Spencer and we both watched that show together when he was little. Alright I will be honest I sometimes even watched it at home by myself. However, I don't think he did shots on his show at that time but it was fun to see this and laugh about the shots and Intervention.
